Messages that move and transform

Tamela Lyons-Price is a certified Somatic Mind-Body Coach, author of The Good Girl Unlearning: Let Her Rest, and the creator of the signature modality Breathe ‘N’ Jam©. Specializing in the intersection of nervous system regulation and chronic over-functioning. Tamela helps women dismantle the “Good Girl” conditioning that traps them in an unrecognized functional freeze. By reframing toxic people-pleasing as a physiological survival strategy rather than a personality flaw, she guides clients to reclaim their embodied authority. A dynamic and interactive presenter, Tamela bridges deep somatic science with accessible, music-driven breathwork, empowering audiences to move from high-functioning burnout to deep regulated rest

Regulation Is Leadership: Leading Beyond Survival

Many high-achieving professionals are praised for being dependable, productive, and endlessly available. Yet beneath that success often lives a nervous system that has learned to survive through over-functioning, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and constant self-sacrifice.

These aren't simply personality traits—they are adaptive survival responses.

When the body remains in a chronic state of stress, many individuals unknowingly operate from what I call Functional Freeze: appearing capable, successful, and "holding it all together" while internally experiencing exhaustion, disconnection, chronic tension, and emotional depletion.

In this transformational presentation, somatic mind-body coach, author, and creator of The Holistic Weaver Method©, Tamela introduces a new perspective:

Regulation is Leadership.

Because the quality of our leadership—whether in the workplace, our families, our businesses, or our communities—is limited by the state of our nervous system.

Through neuroscience, somatic education, and experiential practice, participants learn how survival states quietly influence communication, decision-making, boundaries, conflict resolution, creativity, and resilience. Rather than teaching participants to simply "manage stress," this presentation equips them to recognize when survival is leading and how to return the body to a regulated state where authentic leadership becomes possible.

Participants will also experience a live demonstration of Breathe 'N' Jam©, an interactive somatic practice that combines intentional breath, rhythm, movement, and nervous system regulation to help the body release stored survival stress and reconnect with presence, clarity, and embodied leadership.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the physiological signs of Functional Freeze and understand how chronic survival states influence leadership, communication, productivity, and well-being.

  • Differentiate between personality characteristics and nervous system adaptations that drive over-functioning, perfectionism, and people-pleasing.

  • Develop practical somatic regulation strategies that support healthier boundaries, clearer decision-making, emotional resilience, and sustainable leadership.

  • Experience and apply foundational elements of the Breathe 'N' Jam© framework to promote immediate nervous system regulation and embodied presence in both personal and professional environments.
